The website mapdesign.ro is operated by Map Design SRL, with its registered office in Timișoara, Calea Aradului nr. 18, Timiș County, tax identification number (CUI) RO17581447, trade register number J35/1604/2005. This policy describes the cookies and other records that the website keeps in your browser, the purpose of each, how long they are stored and the ways in which you can control them.
What cookies are
Cookies are small files stored in your browser when you visit a website. Some are placed directly by us, others by the third-party services we use to measure traffic and for advertising campaigns.
Taken individually, they do not contain data that identifies you by name. They do, however, make it possible to tell one visitor from another, which is why analytics and advertising cookies are subject to your consent.
Consent
Analytics and advertising cookies are set only after you have given your consent through the banner displayed on your first visit. Until then, the measurement services send only anonymous signals, without storing any identifier in your browser and without recognising a later visit.
If you refuse, only the two cookies necessary for the website to function remain: the one that records the choice you made and the one that records the language of the page.
The legal basis for the processing is consent, in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Article 4 of Law no. 506/2004. Strictly necessary cookies are set without consent, in accordance with the same Article 4 of Law no. 506/2004, because without them the website cannot respect your choice or display the page in the language you selected.

Other records in the browser
In addition to cookies, the website keeps a few records in the browser’s storage. They are not sent to anyone of their own accord and disappear when the website’s data is deleted:
- tt_prima_pagina (Map Design) — records the first page of the visit; if you send a quote request, this tells us how you found us. It is deleted when the tab is closed.
- __GT_TRANSLATE_LANGS (automatic translation) — appears only if you choose automatic translation of the page, and records the language chosen.
- _gcl_ls (Google Ads) and _cltk (Microsoft Clarity) — appear only after consent to analytics and advertising.
Services loaded from outside the website
Some pages load elements from other providers. Your browser then connects directly to their servers, which learn your IP address and browser type, even if they do not set cookies on our domain:
- Google Maps — the map on the contact page;
- Mapbox — the interactive portfolio map;
- Google Fonts — the fonts of some pages;
- Google Translate, via GTranslate — only if you choose automatic translation, the text of the page is sent for translation;
- Cloudflare Turnstile — protection of the forms against automated messages; it checks that the request comes from a human, without setting cookies on our domain.
What we do not use
The website contains no Facebook pixel and no social media cookies. The social media icons in the footer are simple links: they transmit nothing until you click them. The data collected is not sold and is not passed on to third parties for purposes other than those described here.
Changing your choice
You can change your choice at any time using the round cookie button in the bottom corner of the page: it reopens the preferences, where you can accept or refuse each category. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
Cookies can also be deleted from your browser settings; on your next visit, the banner will ask for your choice again. The procedure differs from one browser to another: Chrome · Firefox · Safari · Edge · Opera.
Google ad personalisation can be switched off separately, in your Google account settings.
Your rights
You have the right of access to your data, the right to rectification, to erasure, to restriction of processing, to object and to data portability, as well as the right to withdraw your consent. Requests should be sent to office@mapdesign.ro and are answered within one month at the latest. Full details can be found in the Privacy Policy.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP, dataprotection.ro).
Updates to this policy
The list above is not taken from a generic template: it is the result of measurements carried out on the website, and the date at the top indicates the most recent check. The policy is updated whenever there are changes to the services used or to the applicable legal requirements.
